5 Billion Dollar Rail Link To Vail “Only Answer”

A report published in the Rocky Mountain News is claiming that a $5 billion high-speed train ink between Denver airport and Vail is the only answer that will work in tackling the ever growing weekend ski traffic congestion on Interstate 70, according to Miller Hudson who has studied the issue for seven years.
He told the Rocky Mountain News that plans to widen the road to six lanes and/or to introduce congestion charging would not work and that congestion is currently worsening at a rate of 6-7% per year.
The train would require $2 billion of public money, the rest coming from private sources. This compares to $4 billion required to upgrade and widen interstate 70.
