The rapidly expanding Bulgarian resort of Bansko, which is also one of the most criticized by environmentalists for what they believe is damage caused by the rapid growth, appears to be looking at ways to “get greener” in the future. A recent visit to the resort by Germany’s Ambassador to Bulgaria in which he suggested Bansko copied some German initiatives on the environment are reported in local media to have been welcomed by the resort town’s mayor Alexander Kravarov.
The ambassador’s suggestions included recycling of waste water and other industrial projects to preserve the environment.
