The Hottest Place on Earth? Real Estate Sales Soar in Revelstoke

Within hours launching its latest real estate endeavour, more than $ 35-million worth of property was snapped up by eager Revelstoke Mountain Resort investors on March 1, bringing the total sales to more than $100 million.
Currently North America’s hottest destination, Revelstoke Mountain Resort is expected to be completed over 15 years and will include over 5,000 new housing units (1,500 apartments, 2,000 hotel suites, 850 town houses and 550 private plots), as well as more than 500,000 square feet of commercial and retail space, and a signature golf course.
However skiers and boarders are more likely to be excited by the news that additional gondolas and chairlifts are expected to be completed in the winter of 2008/09. Revelstoke will then boast North America’s longest lift-serviced vertical descent.
Since its opening less than three months ago in December 2007 with an eight-person, $16-million gondola and a high-speed quad chairlift, Revelstoke Mountain Resort has received rave international reviews. Don Simpson, Development Partner, comments:

People have read about the amazing skiing and want to be part of it. Heli, cat and lift skiing: nowhere else has what Revelstoke Mountain Resort has to offer.”

The last of the three Nelson Lodge buildings is the closest to the slopes. Spanning eight storeys with breathtaking views of British Columbia’s Monashee Mountains, Nelsen Lodge will house 35,000 square feet of commercial space and state-of-the-art amenities including a media room, gym and pool. The contemporary ski-in, ski-out apartments range from 585 to 1,750 square feet and are priced from CAN $667,900
Bertie Sanderson, Director Erna Low Property, comments: ‘As we envisaged, this latest release of properties was hugely successful – the word is out there – the feedback and reviews on the resort by leading ski writers confirm that Revelstoke is not just a ‘resort of the moment’, but a ‘resort of the future’. This is just the start of something incredibly exciting not only in terms of home ownership but also from a year-round tourism – skiing perspective.’

Nice to see a ski resort where there will never be any problem of getting lots of snow. Wow on the real estate too.
