World’s biggest ski resort operator experiences 72.8% jump in income

The Compagnie des Alpes, whichs owns many off the leading ski areas in France, as well as other countries, has reported that an, “outstanding performance by the ski areas” has led to a +72.8% increase in income.
“ This performance can be explained mainly by the sharp growth in the Group’s ski area activity and by the very positive impact of the combination with SOFIVAL, the Val d’Isere lift operator, which occurred on October 1st, 2007.” said a company statement.
Sales were up 27.3% on a real basis compared with the previous financial year and by 12.3% on a like—for-like basis, one of the best performances in the last decade.

Good snow conditions, the quality of the product offering, and the excellent performance by sales teams and accommodations operators led to a sharp rise in visitor numbers and in lift sales.”
