Fourth annual esurance ICER AIR comes to San Francisco

Glen Griffin, ICER AIR creator, has announced that on October 18th, McCovey Cove will be the site of the fourth annual Esurance ICER AIR, an action sports, music and lifestyle event featuring some of the world’s best Olympic and X Games skiers and snowboarders at the event’s signature big air ski and snowboard competition. The event will also feature freestyle motocross, skate, BMX, headliner music acts, interactive exhibits and a beer garden.

ICER AIR has incredible momentum right now,” noted Griffin. “Growing from humble beginnings on the streets of San Francisco to a lifestyle brand in a few short years is remarkable. Each year, we strive to build on the success of previous ICER AIR events, and we’re very excited about future plans for a multi-city Esurance ICER AIR Tour starting in 2009.”

Esurance ICER AIR 2008 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 18th, from noon to 8pm at McCovey Cove’s Lot A, adjacent to AT&T Park, on the San Francisco Embarcadero waterfront. General admission tickets are $28 and can be purchased at www.icerair.com. In addition, family four packs offer a $24 savings and will also be available for purchase for $88.

Esurance ICER AIR is committed to being a responsible leader in environmental conservation and is planning the following for the event: an extensive onsite recycling program, marketing materials printed on recycled paper, plates, napkins and cutlery made from recycled materials, onsite bicycle valets, an extensive public transportation program, a “click n’ print” ticket program to eliminate unnecessary delivery, and much more.

The idea of skiing San Francisco became a reality three years ago. On September 29, 2005, 15,000 people watched history being made as ICER AIR took to Fillmore Street for the first-ever urban big air ski and snowboard competition. Realizing the potential for this type of event and always wanting to push the limits of creativity, ICER AIR creator Glen Griffin moved the jump to AT&T Park in 2006 for the first big-air stadium ski and snowboard competition in the United States. Esurance ICER AIR evolved into an action sports, music, and lifestyle experience featuring skiing, snowboarding, skate, BMX and headliner music acts. In 2007, the event expanded again to include freestyle motocross
