Ski Beat boosts Tsunami Appeal with new, hi-tech Paradiski passes

This winter, clients of Ski Beat staying in La Plagne and Les Arcs in France are enjoying the benefits of new, hi-tech lift passes which also make a valuable contribution to both the Tsunami Appeal and the environment.

The new lift passes, which are scanned automatically through clothing, were introduced at the beginning of the season and bring significant benefits to skiers. Photos are no longer required and the new automatic reading process is much faster. There’s no need to take off gloves and dig around in pockets to get the pass out, meaning substantial reductions in lift queues and less chance of the pass getting lost.

The passes are also great news for the Tsunami Appeal and for the environment. The lift pass company charges a deposit of EUR3 on each pass to encourage customers to return them for re-use. All passes returned to Ski Beat are passed on for recycling and the EUR3 deposit is donated to the Tsunami Appeal. To date, Ski Beat clients have returned almost 700 passes, resulting in a boost to the Appeal of over EUR2,000. Ski Beat hopes at least to double this figure by the end of the season.

Ski Beat still has availability for April departures to La Plagne and Les Arcs, and is now taking bookings for the 2005/06 season (at this winter’s prices).
