Visitor spending drags Park City in significant revenue shortfall

The economic slowdown has hit Park City in Utah right in the pocket book. The year-round tourism destination, Park City has reported a large decline in business over the past nine months Ski Rebel Magazine has learned.
On average, business has fallen more than 22.5% last winter, which has had a devastating impact on the city’s tax revenues since at least July of 2008.
March saw the worst figures with business down by as much as 33% this past March.
City Hall said the decline was in line with expectations and they now expected a gradual recovery through the remainder of 2009.
