Pitztal in Austria has already opened for winter 2009-10 thanks to operating Austria’s highest ski lifts on glacier ski slopes which now have a new special snowmaking system from Israel which can produce abundant fresh snow from water with minimal energy requirements.
For the full winter season however, due to commence on December 1st, the centre will add a new chair lift, the new Sunna Alm.
The new lift will lift skiers from an elevation of 2,130m to 2,350m and replace the old Mulden ski lift.
The ultra-modern Sunna Alm chairlift will provide a much more comfortable ride up to access the various blue and red slopes, as well as the Sunna Alm restaurant. It will also improve the training possibilities for teams and ski clubs.
