Les 2 Alpes launches brand new festival later this month

After 19 years of the Mondial Du Snowboard, the huge annual October opening party is being replaced an all new celebration of the start-of-the-season this October.
The new Rock Of Snowboard Tour will feature many of the same successful elements of new season equipment testing and a great party atmosphere, with some new ideas as well. It will be staged on October 24th and 25th, 2009 on the glacier at 3200metres. The glacier remains open to Sunday 1st November.
Along with the manufacturers, journalists from the French media Snowsorf and Snowtime will also be there to suggest “what and how” to test the snowboards.
The tests will be accompanied with an international amateur competition, ‘Rider Hero’staged in the resort’s snowpark. There will also be a video contest “rec your band”, and a prize for the best tricks “Rail Guitar”.
