Inghams travel company celebrates 75 years

Walter Ingham, the company's founder, when it all began.

Ski outfits have changed a bit since the 1930s.

Three-quarters of a century ago, Walter Ingham advertised in a national newspaper and took his first group to Schoenburg, Tyrol in December 1934. The trip was a huge success and just two years later Walter set up Inghams Travel.

The British travel company has come along way since Walter took his first party skiing, with over five million skiers having holidayed with the winter sports specialists, travelling to over 100 different resorts worldwide.

Walter Ingham was a pioneer who played a fundamental role in the development of the ski package holiday. He single handily organised transport, food, accommodation, ski hire and even worked with a local ski instructor teaching the group how to ski.

To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Inghams has organized an action-packed calendar of festivities and ski races and in the UK, France, Italy, Switzerland and Canada. The celebrations begin with Inghams’ Discovery Day on November 14th at the Motor Centre in Warwickshire, UK, which includes an impressive line up of guest speakers, including sporting ski legend and gold medallist Franz Klammer and intrepid climber and Guinness World Record holder Vicky Jack. The day will aim to provide an opportunity for customers to learn about the many countries, resorts and hotels that are offered by Inghams and come face to face with experts from every region.

I do not know if you can help. I am a niece of Walter Ingham and would be very interested in receiving 2 copies of ” Inghams Travel Company celebrates 75 yrs.” published by Ski Rebel Staff and also 2 CDs Of the Marchs, Ländler composed for the occasion by “Tirol Werbung, SalzburgerLand und Tourismus in Österreich”. If you cannot help, perhaps you can put me onto a better track? Thank you for your help
