A new snowsports academy is set to give children in Northwest England an opportunity to become the UK’s skiing stars of the future.
New courses at Manchester’s Chill Factore indoor snow centre will offer children aged four to 16 the chance to receive top level instruction from experienced coaches. The snowsports academy will help instructors spot and nurture young talent, but is open to all children with an interest in snowsports, from complete beginners through to Championship level.
Running at weekends, children are taught in groups, split by ability. At the end of each three week course, the participants will receive a progress card and can then continue onto the next level.
The snowsports academy is one of a number of lesson options being launched at Chill Factore to coincide with the start of the new ski season. A new Beginners Course option offers tuition in three level stages, allowing participants additional flexibility to perfect their skills on the slopes. A two hour lift pass is also being introduced – giving guests an extra half hour on the slopes for just £5.
Stephen Evans, Chief Executive at Chill Factore, hopes that the changes will help budding skiers and snowboarders across the Northwest get more confident on the slopes.
“Since we opened almost two years ago, thousands of people have given skiing and snowboarding a go for the first time by taking part in a taster session at Chill Factore,” said Evans. “In response to guest demand, we have developed a range of new lesson options to help them take the next steps more easily and progress onto the main slope. “
“We expect our new snowsports academy to be particularly popular and hope that the expert coaching on offer will encourage children to try out the sport, with some even progressing onto major achievement and international success. Skiing is a sport that everyone – regardless of age and ability – can have a go at, and we hope that our revised product offering will make snowsports more accessible to all.
