The new St. Regis resort complex had its official grand opening today at Utah’s Deer Valley ski area.
The $320 million (€214m) property is Utah’s first five-star resort, nestled slope-side at Deer Valley and featuring the first funicular at a North American ski resort. Today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony included local Political dignitaries Senator John L. Valentine and Lieutenant Governor Gregory Bell as well as Michelin-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten who celebrated the opening of his newest restaurant, J&G Grill, located within the resort.
Promoters believe that the St. Regis Deer Crest Resort is poised to become one of the world’s most iconic mountain properties with its slope-side location at the #1 ski resort in the country. The development also came in under budget, created 1,000 jobs, and the sale of its residences broke Utah real estate records in prices sold per square foot. Renowned business and entertainment buyers include Papa John’s CEO John Schnatter, Sportscaster Jim Nantz and Hercules star Kevin Sorbo.
Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, one of the world’s most acclaimed culinary talents, will celebrate the opening of J&G Grill, marking his first foray into the Intermountain West. The St. Regis Deer Crest Resort offers the first funicular at a North American ski resort, a European style Ski Beach, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a 14,000 square-foot Remède Spa, and more than 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.
Spanning 12 acres, The St. Regis Deer Crest Resort has 181 guest rooms, including 67 exquisite one bedroom suites and 114 luxuriously appointed guest rooms which can be combined with the suites to form two, three, and four bedroom accommodations. It also has 26 exclusive “St. Regis” residences.
