Copper Mountain in Colorado has launched a new site based on a ’snow day’ theme, the day when school is canceled due to snow and kids just go and play in the snow.
The site includes videos of interesting ’ski patrol’ characters calling for a national ski day and a feature that lets visitors generate and print fake ski patrol badges with nicknames included. But the beyond the marketing campaign, the site links to information about Copper Mountain winter vacation packages. The resort is offering a ‘buy one get one at 50 per cent or 4th night free’ deal this winter on the site.
“Copper Mountain knows there are skiers and riders out there who have never felt the thrill of waking up and hearing on the radio that school was canceled,” said a resort release.
“There are people who have never spent a whole day in the snow doing anything their heart desired. These people, and those who understand snow day bliss, are the reason we do what we do. The goal is to make Copper the place people come to take a day, or two or seven and experience the mountain. The Snow Day cause is in full steam – we are dedicated to each and every one of you deserving a snow day, so we cooked up a way to help.”
Copper Mountain was recently sold by Intrawest to Utah-based Powdr Corp.
