The company behind the proposed Texas Alps indoor ski facility has received the official endorsement of the US Bobsled & Skeleton Federation.
In addition to offering real indoor skiing and snowboarding, the first facility will incorporate an ice push track which will give the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton teams’ year-round access to an Olympic calibre training facility for athlete testing and training. Snow Sport Entertainment have designed and developed several facilities throughout England.
“I am pleased to announce our support and endorsement to Snow Sport Entertainment, LTD in their efforts to develop the first indoor ski /snowboarding facility in the United States, which will include the United States’ first ice push track,” said Darrin Steele, CEO of the United States Bobsled & Skeleton Federation.
The programs at the track will include athlete training, recruiting and athlete development, corporate teambuilding programs and international push competitions.
“The USBSF endorses the project and we have partnered with Snow Sport Entertainment Ltd to help design the ice push track giving U.S. athletes the most modern training facility attracting Bobsled, Luge and Skeleton Athletes from around the world,” said Steele. “The facility will not only give U.S. Olympic calibre athletes a place to train regardless of weather and time of year but will also showcase the fastest winter Olympic sports to the general public.”
The Fort Worth, Texas indoor snow slope will be part of a $1.6 billion multi-use centre including retail, residential, office and entertainment space.
