A new Japanese-style event will welcome professional Freestyle skiers and boarders from all over Europe and Japan to Les 2 Alpes this July.
The Kumi Yama snowsports event will be at the French ski resort from the 2nd to the 4th of July. It follows in the footsteps of the Tahitian inspired Taravena Freestyle event, and it features two competitions, slopestyle and superpipe, which will be held over the three days.
Les 2 Alpes has an internationally renowned snowpark, and it continues to expand thanks to the help of professionals and huge investments. There are some 18 hectares open from 7.30am and 1pm daily for everyone from beginners to experts.
There are three different zones. The ski fun zone is on the northern section of the Dôme sud area with a boardercross, whoops, two beginner’s tables and a line of boxes. The pro zone has big air, tables, hips and many other modules including rails, containers, and drums. There’s also an advanced zone, an Olympic size super pipe, and a redesigned relaxation area known as the Coolzone. A shred area will cover the length of the snowpark and there’ll be a freestyle training on a big air bag – a huge air mattress to avoid accidents.
The summer snow season runs from Wednesday, June 16th to Saturday, August 28th.
