The summer season kicked into high gear on June 22nd at the French resort Les 2 Alpes with some fresh snow. The quality kept up throughout the day much to the revellers enjoying the slopes.
Recent bad weather slowed down the installation of features in the snowpark but the park’s team and working through this week to finish all the rails and kickers. They report that the glacier has much better snow cover compared to last year.
This weekend the Park is celebrating the atmosphere of Tahiti in an event organised in honour of Gary Zebrowski, a talented snowboarder born in Raïatea and Les 2 Alpes ambassador. Taravana Freestyle is now celebrating its fourth year. For the occasion, the park’s champion, who shot to fame at the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics, where he finished 6th, is providing palm trees, blue-tinted snow, fine sand, headdresses, Tahitian women, shows, a snow park with new ramps.
