Two of New Zealand’s leading ski fields, Cardrona Alpine Resort and Treble Cone, have joined forces for 2005 to produce the Wanaka Pass.
This five-day anytime pass will give visitors to Lake Wanaka the opportunity to enjoy both ski areas with the convenience of one lift pass.
The GAP 1328 Summer Camp on the Zugspitze above Garmisch in Germany has become Europe, and probably the world’s biggest summer snow event. The Camp has grown to attract 12,000 participants in 2004, up from an original 1200 when it began eight years ago.
A 300m long, two metres wide, artificial ski surface produced by Italian Firm SnowSun and sponsored by General Electric, was laid recently in the city of Turin.
The slope was part of a special Festival organised to celebrate the coming of the Winter Olympics next year to Torino. It was staged by Atrium Torino, a foundation based in Turin which works to promote the Olympic ideal worldwide.

Cardrona Alpine Resort has attracted four out of the five top sporting events in the New Zealand winter sports calendar for 2005 including three national skiing and snowboarding championships and one international snowboard event.
The White Highlands of Folgaria, Lavarone and Luserna in Italy’s Trentiono region are becoming a favourite haunt with snowboarders. Not least because a new snow-park has been added to the existing Fondo Grande park in Folgaria. The new area dedicated to snowboarding acrobatics is situated in Lavarone, or more precisely at Malga Rivetta, on the other side of the Forti ski carousel.
