Utah’s Powder Mountain is one of the largest ski areas in the US, but has a reputation for having rather slow and old chairlifts.
That’s due to change next winter as the resort will begin installation of a new Doppelmayr high speed quad to replace its oldest lift, the 1972 Hidden Lake double chair, on July 1st.

Far West Ski Association president, Mike Sanford, has announced that Jimmy Petterson has won the Bill Berry Award for his recently published book, “Skiing Around the World”. This award honours “outstanding contributions to skiing by the media”. Petterson will be presented with the award during a FWSA convention in Phoenix in mid-June.
