Pussycat Dolls to Play Ischgl’s Season Opening Concert.

The Paznaun Tourist Office, based in Ischgl in the Austrian Tirol, has announced that this hot US singing sextet the Pussycat Dolls are to launch the 06-07 ski season with an open-air concert in the village square on the evening of Saturday 2nd December. More details on the concert will be released nearer the time.

Second Marmot Extreme Skiing & Snowboarding Competition This Weekend

The stage is set for the 2nd annual Marmot Extreme Skiing & Snowboarding Competition where athletes are vying for part of a $40,000 (NZ) prize pool. The Contest kicks off this weekend in The Pinnacles at Whakapapa Ski Area, the largest ski area in New Zealand.

Winner of Sámi Prize Design Contest For Åre 2007 Alpine World Championships

Inez Rensberg, a Sámi craftswoman from Funäsdalen, is the creator of the winning entry in the competition launched by Åre 2007 AB, to design the Alpine World Championships honour prize. The winning entry is primarily intended to be a decorative wall-hanging, but can also be used as a cushion or seat cover. The wall-hanging is made from a reindeer’s “bellingar”, the pelt on its legs, following a tradition found among all the Arctic peoples of the world.
