Burgeoning Bromont Overtaking Tremblant?

The rapidly expanding Ski Bromont resort in Quebec, Canada will add another 25 new trails this winter taking its tally up to 129. The ski area had only 25 runs just six years ago.

The claim on the resort’s website that it is the biggest ski area in North America seems slightly optimistic, and the number of trails count is not a scientific measure. However the run tally is 35 more than Tremblant’s 94. However Tremblant claims 625 acres of terrain compared to Bromont’s currently posted 400 acres – although that may be due for an update as the mathematicians try to keep up with the rate of expansion.

Along with the new run’s Bromont is adding a double chair, in addition to its existing half dozen quad chairs, most of them installed since 2000.

South Tyrol will be the first region in Italy to introduce a day ski pass where you pay by the day, after you’ve skied, and accumulate discounts the more days you ski.

The new Dolomiti chip-card system aims to save precious minutes usually spent queuing at the ticket desk. The new day ski pass also entitles you to discounts off the standard price – 5% on the first five days, 10% from the sixth day onwards.
