Whistler gets a kick start to an early winter

Snow revellers hoping for another record snow year this year got their wish when locals woke up on Sept. 30 to find a foot (30cm) of snow had fallen right down to the village.

Snowmaking gets a blast in Manchester

Chill Factore, the Alpine village due to open just outside Manchester, has began making snow ahead of its official opening date in November. The slope will be the fifth UK indoor snow centre to be operational at present and the 58th in the world. The UK will then equal Germany in third place in the world for number of snow centres.
