An incredible month of October capped off with a Halloween treat for Ski Rebel Magazine. Visitation to the ski portal broke an all time record with a radical increase of more than 190% compared to the same period in 2008.
It’s just another great chapter in our story just as the season is getting underway in the northern hemisphere. We’re particularly thrilled to see such a high increase in the number of visits. It’s a tangible sign that we are on the right track,’’ said Frederick Wallace, President and Managing Editor of Ski Rebel Magazine.
Skirebel.com pages views have experienced a spectacular growth with more than 200% more content being referenced. These numbers are consistent with a high growth cycle that began in the spring. So far the web site has surpassed its objectives by 62% for the year ending in January.
A number of exciting new features are going to be launched this fall and we are on track to continue the base of our online expansion of web properties.
October’s growth was fueled by the following top online stories:
1. US ski resort is faced with foreclosure worries
2. Top 10 iPhone applications
3. Trouble Xanadu developers lose bid for financing $2 billion complex
4. Intrawest sells European properties to manage debt

A day after Canada’s Olympic Park ski hill near Calgary, Alberta saw it’s earliest opening ever, Québec’s Mont Saint-Sauveur enjoyed its own earliest ever opening on October 18th, while Mont Sainte-Anne prepared for its November opening.
Mont Saint-Sauveur set a new record by opening nine days earlier than its previous record: an opening on October 27, 1997. The resort is also the first in Canada to offer night skiing. Staff at Saint-Sauveur say that as long as the weather keeps giving perfect conditions, snowmaking will continue and produce more skiable terrain hour by hour.
