North American ski resorts are finally revving up operations after it snowed in the east.

While snow conditions in much of the USA were causing headaches for resort operators (until this past week when winter finally decided to arrive), western Canadian resorts have been experiencing a booming business thanks to heavy and regular snowfall all winter to date. Tremblant expands snowmaking and gets new ski rentals

Skiers will have more access to the facilities on Versant Soleil including the casino thanks to a new snowmaking system.

Ski season kicks off in North America while snowstorms hit east

Sheep are just one of the many sites you will see at Fogelfonn this summer.

When Folgefonn opens up for the summer season on May 14th, it’s likely to unseat Mount Baker in Washington State as the world record holder for the deepest amount of natural snow. Mount Baker which has recorded more than  706 cm (23.5 feet) snowfall base this season, is going to fall to Folgefonn which has recorded up to 10 metres (34.6 metres) of snow this year. On average baker receives about 750 inches (19.1 metres) of snow each winter – officially more than any other ski area on the planet.

Skiers at Nevis Range were in for a winter treat with the opening of all ski lifts this past weekend.
