Snowfall eases a little around the globe but hits Jackson Hole, Whistler and Courchevel

Heavy snowfalls of the last seven days have eased off in most areas, although the podium medals are awarded to  Jackson Hole, Whistler and Courchevel this week for recording the largest amount of fresh new snow this past week.  Elsewhere, there has been more fresh snow, just not the huge volumes of previous weeks. Mid-winter snow hits across North America and Europe

Passo Tonale has the best ski base in the world right now.

 

It’s been yet another snowy week in most of Europe and large swathes of North America. French ski areas seem to have performed the best for fresh snow in the last week with some reporting as much as three feet/90cm of new snow in the last seven days and more areas now reporting 3m+ (10+ ft) bases, although this has been accompanied by stormy weather at times.

Heavy snow continues in the Alps, early pre-season in Canada is place to be

Two ski resorts in Eastern North America cranked up their lifts. Pictured here is Mont Tremblant a couple of weeks ago.
