Chill Factore lauches one-hour lift pass deal

Chill Facore indoor snow centre.

The Chill Factore indoor snow centre in Manchester has announced it’s offering a cheap one hour lift pass this spring and summer.

The offer lets snowsports enthusiasts ski from as little as £15 (€17) for adults or £11 (€12.50) for juniors.

A summer membership package is also returning following a successful trial last year, meaning those who want to ski on a regular basis get 30 percent off lift passes, lessons and snow activities until September 30th.

Summer skiing in the Alps is a beginner’s paradise

Les Deux Alpes in France.

A great place for first timers to learn to ski and board could be summer glacier skiing in Les 2 Alpes in France.

There are 90 hectares of ski runs including two green nursery slopes and four more easy blues to progress on to. For the more advanced there are two red runs as a freestyle zone and off-piste area. 16 ski lifts operate in summer (51 in winter) comprising two gondola lifts, a cable car, four chairlifts, seven drag lifts, a snow tow, a funicular and an inclined lift.

From the top of the glacier skiers and boarders also enjoy a breathtaking 360 degree panorama, views over Mont Blanc and the Ecrins National Park and the chance to visit a glacier ice cave.

Swan song for Cairngorm’s super ski season

Scottish ski resort Cairngorm.

Scotland’s Cairngorm Mountain just finished its last full week of operations this season, which is widely regarded as having been the best for a generation.

The season doesn’t end with the May bank holiday however, as the ski centre above Aviemore will continue to operate at weekends through May as conditions permit. Glencoe will also be open on weekends, but the other three Scottish centres have closed for the season.

At Cairngorm you can still ski top to bottom although lower runs are getting narrow and thin in places. The centre expects to operate the Ptarmigan, Ciste, Cas, M1, and West Wall uplifts along with the train.

Cheap deals lead the last week of season to a close in Tigne

Tignes ski season enters last week with incredible deals

Tignes in France, is offering a week’s accommodation, lift ticket and apres ski for 175 Euros ($ 250 U.S.)  on this week for the last week of the season.

The special offer, valid from May 1 – 8, and including seven nights accommodation and six day lift ticket, is priced at less than the cost of a six day lift ticket alone at the high altitude French resort  during the main season.

At least 100km of ski runs will still be open and 1000m or more of vertical.

Anyone taking advantage of the offer will also receive free evening admission to the resort’s Lagoon swimming complex.

Ski for cheap on the Bank Holiday weekend

Tignes in the French Alps.

With excellent late season snow conditions dominating the European ski resorts, it’s a good time for Brits to catch a good deal for the Bank Holiday.

Ski Freshtracks is offering a weekend break for all ski abilities over the first of May weekend, based in the snow sure French resort of Tignes. It includes evening flights and convenient transfers giving four full days on the snow.

The Bank Holiday Blast is open to skiers of all abilities (except beginners) wishing to sample the wide range of pistes and glacier runs in the Espace Killy.
