Sheep are just one of the many sites you will see at Fogelfonn this summer.

Norway’s struggling Stryn soldiers on

A lone skier enjoys the summer weather at Stryn.

The struggling Stryn summer ski centre in Norway may survive after all.

Online reports say that the favourite ski resort of many ski racers including the great Alberto Tomba has been saved from threatened closure due to its economic difficulties.

St. Moritz and the Engadin Valley received 1.3m (4.4ft). Most other Swiss resorts have done well, too. Sedrun, for example, received about a metre (three feet) of new snow on November 30th.

We at SkiRebel.com receive plenty of releases from ski resorts and ski travel companies about why their deals are worth writing about. Sometimes they are, and sometimes they’re just empty sales pitches.

Recently, UK-based tour operator Alpine Tracks sent out a pitch attempting to dispel myths about Skiing in Norway, mostly in comparison to other European ski destinations. Alpine Tracks is selling ski packages to Norway, and we thought it would be interesting to see what they had to say.
