French government has increased VAT to 7 per cent on lift passes.

Following in the footsteps of its European counterparts, the French Government has increased the Value Added Tax (VAT) on lift passes from 5.5% to 7% as from 1 January 2012 as a way to reign in on a ballooning debts.
