The dotted resort of Mont Sutton along the Eastern Townships Canada-US border, has perhaps been one of the best kept skiing secrets in the world for the past fifty years. But on the weekend of December 17th, the resort that is known for its abundant natural snow, large variety of glade skiing is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
In celebration of the anniversary on Friday 17th tickets will be only $5 (about £3) – the cost they were back in 1960. Guests will receive a piece of the resort’s huge 50th’s birthday cake at the main chalet. There’ll be après-ski at the Bar Le Tucker with prizes followed by a Tapas evening at the Bar Le Tucker with Angel Forrest live show (tickets available at montsutton.com).
The party continues on Saturday, December 18th with friendly races, medal for the winners and prizes for all participants; additional activities for kids; entertainment with a DJ on the
Bar Le Tucker’s patio and a cocktail party for the 50th anniversary with Mont Sutton’s founders. A torchlight descent follows then a commemorative dinner and the free outdoor show with Les Trois Accords which will be followed by fireworks. Then there’ll be a party at the Bar Le Tucker with a DJ.
On Sunday, December 19th the celebratory weekend will wind up with outdoor activities for the whole family all day long.
