Welsh company Impact International are currently installing their patented Playgrass Ski Carpet artificial surface ski slope over 9,000 square metres of slopes in Israel.
“The new ski centre is going to be in Gilboa, to the North East of Israel and about an hour’s drive from Tel Aviv, just down from Nazareth in the Shomron district,” said director Mike Keating.

In addition to the ski slope there will also be shops, hotel and a café, it’s a big complex.”

The main slope is 250m long ands 30m wide and the facility will also incorporate a half pipe as well as other terrain park features and rails built into one side of the area to allow for other areas to be used by the public and for racing. There will also be an 80m long teaching slope that is 30m wide.
Both slopes will have an Impact Leisure Lubrication System that will re-cycle rain and other surplus water for its use. Uplift at the new area will be provided by a FAVA Conveyor Lift on the teaching slope and a double chairlift will service the main slope.
The project is due to open in Spring 2009, the ground works / profiling being complete, the Playgrass Ski Carpet (9,000 sqm) will start to be laid this month.
