Nike ACG delivers a versatile, cutting edge collection of performance footwear and apparel for Spring/Summer ’08.

The collection is personified by the Nike ACG Soaker – a performance shoe designed for water environs but with an urban aesthetic that makes it equally at ease on the streets.

Design allies ‘Call of the Wild’ and ‘Delphi’ inject the Nike ACG graphic program with energy and freshness, their natural motifs and animal prints conveying Nike ACG’s passion for the outdoors.

The Considered philosophy that is the backbone of Nike ACG’s amphibious footwear range extends to other garments in the collection. For example the panelled build of the Considered Hoody delivers maximum yields from our 100% unbleached organic cotton with minimum waste. The tag of this season is performance and style with a considered ethos.

TRAIL

The trail is a demanding arena in which to train, with weather, terrain and athlete conditions ever changing. Nike ACG Trail manages an athlete’s personal environment while protecting against their harsh surrounding.

MINIMA STRETCH JACKET
The Minima Stretch is a technical exo-skin for the trail. As an evolution of the Minima Jacket – a mainstay in ACG’s collection – the Gore® Paclite® remains waterproof and breathable to regulate an athlete’s climate and uniquely lightweight and compact for packability. This season’s Minima has the added benefit of Gore® Stretch Paclite® panels to enhance performance in more athletic pursuits.

NO SEW COMPOSITE JACKET
The No Sew Composite Jacket is a lightweight soft shell defence for the trail. Both wind and water-resistant, the jacket’s composite build features weight and volume-saving fused seams that make it stowable when the going gets warm. Element-defiant zips and cuffs bolster all-conditions protection. An embossed design on the face of the fabric was designed by one of Nike ACG’s newest design allies, Delphi Collective. The San Francisco/Tokyo based collaborators have applied several of their graphical designs to Nike ACG products in the Spring 08 collection.

CORDILLERA BAGGY PANT
The Cordillera Baggy Pant is a favourite of Nike ACG base jumper Laurent Niol. In his own words, they add an ‘engine’ to his jumping. The stretch nylon and crotch gusset offer optimal mobility and comfort. With plenty of secured pocket space, the Cordillera Baggy is the essential versatile and lightweight all-trail pant. The relaxed fit and an all-over embossed Delphi Collective pattern transitions with ease from the natural environment to a concrete one.

VERTICAL SHELL
The Vertical Shell is a new skool performance take on the anorak. Its all-condition Storm-FIT fabric is highly breathable and blocks rain, sleet or snow to a water pressure of 5,000mm. Several venting front zip pockets, a hood with visor and hem drawcord allow the wearer to adjust to the temperature changes inside the garment as quickly as the outside changes.

WATER
Water sports exert unique stresses on an athlete and their equipment. For this reason Nike ACG Water utilizes lightweight, breathable and quick-drying materials as well as water sport fluent features that have been tried and tested in the field by our team of professional athletes.

PERFORMANCE WATER SHORT
The Performance Water Short is the result of intensive field-testing by Nike ACG’s water team – not a single function or feature for the river athlete has been overlooked. Boat-mindful details include a grippy seat for added traction and control when paddling, strategically placed front-thigh pockets and stretch V panels on the waist for adjustable comfort when seated or standing. The quick-dry fabric and laser cut drain holes shed water. The grip pattern in the seat is designed by the London-based design duo, Call of the Wild, who have contributed several graphic patterns to the Spring 08 Nike ACG collection.

ACG BOYKINI TOP AND BOTTOM
The ACG Boykini Top and Bottom is a hybrid athletic bikini that delivers support, comfort and confidence in the hardest of water sport conditions. Made from a soft nylon and spandex knit, it is quick drying and conforms to all figures and activities. The versatile top can be tied in three ways for a customized fit while paddling or a unique look during downtimes. The bottoms provide support with an adjustable profile. Worn in short-mode they are protective in the boat, but transform via tunnelled pulls at the hip into a flattering bikini bottom when it’s time to soak up some sun on the river bank.

SOAKER MID

The Soaker is lightweight, highly breathable, and quick-drying hybrid footwear equally at home underwater, on the trail, or in an urban environment. The design is guided by Considered principles – snap-fit tooling and perimeter stitch construction to substantially reduce the use of cements, recycled polyester laces and an upper body mesh made of 100% recycled polyethylene mesh. Though the heart of the Soaker is environmentally friendly, the soul of it is all performance. Midsole drainage ports, a quick-dry upper and perforated tongue foam allow the soakers to shed water quickly. A protective molded toe bumper protects against abrasion when scrambling over rocks and a 0.44 sticky rubber waffle design provides sure footing over the slick surface of the river basin.

The Considered line embraces both footwear and apparel and is a reflection of Nike ACG’s commitment to athlete and environment. All Considered products start with the concept of enhancing environmental sustainability and blend in performance attributes and progressive aesthetics.

Considered footwear employs snap-fit technology to minimize adhesives and applies a liberal use of raw materials that are recycled or sustainable. Apparel too includes eco-conscious materials and detailing, while unique design practices maximise the fabric cut from a material block to minimize waste in production.

CONSIDERED HOODY
The Considered Hoody is second-layer comfort for body and soul. Made from 100% unbleached organic cotton, the parquet build delivers maximum yields from the material block with minimum waste.

HEAVENLY TANK
The Heavenly Tank features an eco-conscious design that is as beautiful as it is smart. Made from a blend of lush soy, organic cotton and spandex, the hugging fit of the Heavenly can be personalised via recycled plastic shoulder buttons. Most impressive is that the Tank’s waste-saving pattern enables Nike ACG to deliver a marker efficiency of over 90% – heavenly for athlete and environment.

MADA BAGGY CARGO PANT
The Mada Baggy Cargo Pant is designed to rock both mountain and metropolis. A sports-oriented design includes a chalk-bag loop and articulated knees for a more natural fit and enhanced mobility. Sustainable details include a durable 100% organic cotton fabric body and a coconut button waist, fly and cargo pocket closures.

COPPER CANYON
The Copper Canyon brings the Considered ethos to the river sandal silhouette. The snap-fit construction combines a midsole made with recycled phylon to a rubber outsole compound that is part sticky rubber, part recycled rubber. The upper foot harness has a single-pull fastening system that allows for on-the-fly adjustment and a snug fit. The result is an eco-conscious, high traction sandal that offers grip and stability on the river bank and rock.
