Indoor snow centre Xscape, Castleford, has created a new opportunity for snow addicts – the chance to ‘camp out’ on the snow slope through the night when temperatures are brought down to minus 10 and snow is made for up to five hours.
The Xscape complex has launched its ‘Arctic Challenge’ in partnership with Yorkshire mountaineer Alan Hinkes, the first British climber to successfully conqueror all 14 of the world’s highest mountains over 8,000 metres.
Richard Spencer, commercial manager at Xscape, told local media: “We developed this challenge with Alan as we are always looking to bring new experiences to our customers. We think this will be particularly popular with businesses looking for a motivational or team-building experience. We have also had inquiries about the Arctic Challenge from groups who want to acclimatise prior to high-altitude expeditions and also from the military for training purposes.”
