Description

Built on the foothills of Mount Pelion, the city of Volos is one of the most ancient cities in Greece and an important tourist destination all year round.

Pilion boasts two runs of just over a kilometre, and the steep Kentriki trail which descends 217 metres in its 350 metre length! Meals and overnight accommodation are available at the centre.

Description

Established by the Drama ski club, this resort is the most North Easterly in Greece and normally has the country’s longest ski season. It also operates the country’s biggest chair lift, a 1.5km long detachable quad.

Heliski with the Gods on Mt Olympus

The ancient Greeks thought that Olympus was the "home of the gods".

Those who wonder what it’s like to ski with the gods can look towards Heliski Greece, a relativity new company that will offer descents of legendary Mt. Olympus this spring.

The mountain rises 2,919m (9574ft) straight up from the Aegean Sea, and under normal conditions runs will range from 1,000 to 1,500 vertical meters (about 3,000 to 5,000 vertical feet). On some years it’s possible to ski all the way down to the sea. Heliski Greece will ski four to six runs a day, returning back to their hotel base on the Aegean Coast at the end of each day.
