'Where's the Snow?' Ski Rebel has the list of the snowiest resorts for 2011-12

‘Where’s the snow?’ was probably the most coined phrase used by die-hards this past winter. The roller  coaster weather which lead to a historic hard stop to the season in many parts of North America will gladly be forgotten by many enthusiasts and operators alike. 

As Skirebel.com reported a few weeks ago, most of the continent never really experienced a true winter. Above average norms mixed in with huge temperature swings and below average snowfall made things a little dicey and mountain operators struggling to make it until Easter. The first signs of snow…resorts are open for business!

Ski Rebel Magazine is reporting that more ski areas have opened early for winter 2010-11. Among the resorts opening earlier than expected were Schladming and Kitzbuhel in Austria and Laax in Switzerland, Verbier has announced it hopes to open this weekend.
