The Winter X Games are headed off to Tignes, France next March.

After the success of the inaugural event last winter, Tignes has announced that the new European version of the Winter X Games, which has been a mainstay in the US for more than a dozen years, most of them at Aspen Snowmass in Colorado, will be back in the French resort for its second staging this coming winter.

The 2011 edition of the extreme snow sports competition and festival will be staged from March 16th to 18th 2011, attracting the very best international freestylers.

Last March more than 66,000 fans attended the first European X Games.
